After your student is pre-enrolled with East, you will receive a confirmation email including her/his student ID number and information on how to contact the counseling office. During the summer you will receive a welcome letter with information to complete your student registration process. If you are not part of East High School boundaries and you would like for your student to attend East High, you will need to apply for a Late Enrollment. You will receive an email with the administrator’s answer. Your student will not be able to register in August until the Late Enrollment application has been approved and you have accepted the approval from the Administrator and submitted your documents. Thank you, Student Services East High School Late Enrollment Students who wish to enroll at East High school and live outside the district boundaries will need to complete a late enrollment application. Late Enrollment Application Attendance How do I excuse my students’ absence? 1. Fill out this form https://forms.office.com/r/jH7mMBCHGv 2. Send an excusal note from a parent/legal guardian. The student will need to bring this to Student Service when they return to school. There they will receive an official East excusal slip they can show their teacher. This will allow them to receive missed homework and instruction. 3. Send a doctor’s note. The student will need to bring this to Student Service when they return to school. Email easthighattendance@slcschools.org we will only accept excusals from the email address listed on the student’s registration card. When excusing absences please remember to include the following information: • Student Name • Student # • Date of absence and which classes were missed that day • Short description – ex: student was sick, had a doctor appt. etc… • Parent name, signature and phone number where they can be reached for any questions. Phone calls are not accepted to excuse student’s absences How do I check my student out of school early for the day? 1. You can send your student to school with a note stating that they will be checking out early. Your student will need to bring this note to Student Services to receive a street pass so they can leave at the designated time. It is best if they bring this to Student Services before school starts, this way they will have the Street Pass and will be excused from class when stated. 2. A parent/guardian can call Student Services and request the release of their student. Student Services will verify they are speaking with a parent/guardian or someone who has approved access to have the student leave the school. Once this is verified a Street Pass will be issued and sent to the student. 3. A parent/guardian/emergency contact can come into Student Services and check out a student. Please understand when you come in or call to have a student immediately released it may take extra time because the student will need to be located. This especially holds true if your student is in classes such as PE or drivers ed. Your student’s safety is of utmost importance. Students who leave during school hours must checkout through the attendance office and receive a Street Pass.
